Teen charged in fatal crash; texting suspected

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - An Alaska teenager suspected of texting while driving and crashing into another car has been indicted on a manslaughter charge. Prosecutors say 16-year-old Murphy Madison Gross of Anchorage smoked pot and drove without a license before running a red light Feb. 6 and T-boning a car carrying four people. The crash killed 27-year-old passenger Catherine Cope, a mother of two. The indictment charges the teen with manslaughter, felony texting-while-driving, three counts of assault, driving under the influence and driving without a valid driver's license. The teenager has denied texting during the crash.
