- ANCHORAGE,  Alaska (AP) - Authorities say a 29-year-old Anchorage man accused of shooting his mother was once the woman's codefendant in big cocaine busts between 1999 and 2002. The Anchorage Daily News says Paino Alvarez-Perdomo and his mother, Altagracia Perdomo - now named Altagracia Guillen - were charged with conspiracy and distributing cocaine through a drug-dealing ring. In November 2002, the mother and son were among 44 defendants listed in four separate indictments. Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Bradley says the mother was convicted and served prison time. Bradley says the charges against the son were dropped. Police say Alvarez-Perdomo fired twice and hit Guillen once Wednesday at his midtown apartment. Guillen sustained a non-life-threating wound to the abdomen. Alvarez-Perdomo was arrested on charges of assault and weapons misconduct.
