Floatplane crash injures 4

- KETCHIKAN, Alaska (AP) - State troopers say a floatplane crash on Prince of Wales Island in southeast Alaska has injured four people. All are expected to survive. Troopers say the de Havilland Beaver operated by Ketchikan-based Promech Air went down in some trees Wednesday and the crash triggered an emergency locator beacon. The Anchorage Daily News reports that Promech Air personnel also called for help after receiving radio communication from the pilot who said the plane's engine was failing. A Coast Guard spokesman says an agency helicopter picked up two of the four occupants and flew them to a Ketchikan hospital, then returned to rescue the other two.
