Deadly crash came hours after Anchorage DUI plan

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Police say alcohol may have been a factor in a deadly Anchorage car crash that came just hours after local police launched an effort to combat drunken driving. Channel-2 reports that Stephen Christopher Kenny lost control of his vehicle and went over an embankment Saturday morning. Authorities say the passenger of the vehicle survived and described that the two had both been drinking at a private party. Anchorage police began a drunken driving initiative on Friday evening that involves volunteers searching the streets for drivers who may be drunk. As a result of the increased focus, Anchorage police made 10 DUI arrests after the initiative was announced.
