Work continues on renovations at Juneau elementary

- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - There's added activity at Auke Bay Elementary School in Juneau. Workers are putting the finishing touches on a $17 million renovation project at the 50-year-old school. The Juneau Empire reports unanticipated problems with soil quality and elevator installation means work was finished by the time school started Tuesday. However, school officials say the project should be completed by October 1. Construction workers will only work after school and weekends so the school day isn't interrupted.
