Menard, Wagoner upset in GOP primaries

- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Incumbent Sens. Linda Menard and Tom Wagoner have been upset in their GOP primaries. With 100 percent of precincts reporting in Senate District D, Mike Dunleavy had 58 percent and Menard of Wasilla, 42 percent.  In Senate District O, with all precincts reporting, Soldotna Mayor Peter Micciche had 59.5 percent and incumbent Sen. Tom Wagoner of Kenai 40.5 percent. Wagoner and Menard are members of the Senate's bipartisan majority coalition. Some Republican leaders have made breaking up the coalition a priority. The senators' involvement in the group was an issue in both races. Meanwhile, former Labor Commissioner Click Bishop won the GOP primary for an open Senate seat. With 84 percent of precincts reporting, Bishop had 49 percent, Ralph Seekins had 31 percent and David Eastman, 20 percent.
