Utility to review wind storm procedures

Sep 11, 2012 -- 12:08pm

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - An Anchorage utility says it will review procedures following last week's wind storm that left hundreds of customers without power. Chugach Electric said as of Monday all its customers had power restored. Janet Reiser, chair of the Chugach board, says the utility responded well from an operations standpoint, but could have done a better job of communicating with customers. Chugach has been criticized by some for being slow to take outage reports and answering customer questions. Meanwhile, the Anchorage Daily News reports that the city is conducting a survey of businesses and residences to learn the cost of the storm and the power outages that followed.
