2nd storm hits Anchorage area, flood warnings issued

The National Weather Service in Anchorage says a flood warning has been issued for Chester Creek and an advisory has been issued for all other creeks in the Anchorage Bowl. In the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the NWS has issued a flood warning for rivers and streams in the Western Talkeetna Mountains – that includes rivers that cross the Parks Highway. For the latest weather advisories and warnings, please visit http://www.arh.noaa.gov/.
Meanwhile, a second major wind storm in less than two weeks hit Anchorage this weekend, but weather experts say its greatest intensity is mostly on higher elevations where gusts were reported as high as 120 mph. Chugach Electric Association has been dealing with scattered power outages around Anchorage throughout Sunday.
