3rd wind storm this month eyes Anchorage

Sep 18, 2012 -- 10:48am

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage residents, brace yourselves again. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for early Tuesday. Areas covered in the watch include Turnagain Arm and the city's upper Hillside neighborhood. Winds are expected to die down a bit in the afternoon, but could pick up again Tuesday night. The National Weather Service says there could be gusts up to 100 mph. This might continue into Wednesday morning. Anchorage has already had two bouts with high winds this month, including a storm on Sept. 4-5 that downed trees and left many in the dark. A high wind warning last weekend didn't hiT with the force of the earlier storm.
