Searchers seeks woman missing nearly 7 weeks

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Searchers in Anchorage this week are trying to solve the mystery of a 63-year-old woman who disappeared nearly seven weeks ago. Lifelong resident Letitia Ann Baxter was last seen about 1:15 p.m. Aug. leaving her sister's near the Delaney Park Strip. She said she had plans to walk a few blocks downtown for errands. Baxter was known to enjoy Anchorage trails throughout the year and a search Monday that included four dogs and 16 people focused on trail areas between Goose Lake and Cook Inlet. Family members tell the Anchorage Daily News they're grateful to searchers but that they're adjusting to a "certain grim awareness" because of how long Baxter has been gone.
