- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police say a 21-year-old man charged with attempted murder in a vicious assault on a woman has surrendered. Police spokeswoman Anita Shell says Bukurim Miftari made contact with police through his lawyer Tuesday evening and has been taken into custody. Police say the man had a domestic relationship with the injured woman, 30-year-old Kristen Reid, who was found barely alive in a ditch Monday morning. She remains in critical condition.
