- NONDALTON, Alaska (AP) — A 47-year-old Nondalton man has been charged with assault in a shooting that occurred nearly a year ago in the village 190 miles southwest of Anchorage. Luther E. Hobson is charged with shooting another man in the leg on Jan. 7 at Hobson's home. State Troopers say the men were in a verbal and physical fight fueled by alcohol and it culminated with the shooting of the second man. A grand jury on Dec. 5 indicted Hopson on a felony assault count. Troopers arrested him Monday. Hobson was transported to Bristol Bay Borough Detention Facility in King Salmon with bail set at $10,000.
