Police investigate report of home invasion

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - An Anchorage man says a man came into his home, hit him on the head and stole a gun, cash and phone. Police say the intruder knocked on the door of the Fairview man's home late Tuesday and asked to use a phone. It wasn't until the man was inside the home that the resident saw that the intruder had what appeared to be a small handgun. The Anchorage Daily News says the victim retrieved his own firearm, but the other man took it away from him. He told police he does not remember what happened after that. The man told police that when he awoke the next day he thought he had been shot, but discovered he'd been hit on the head and called police.
