- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Campaign disclosures show Joe Miller ended 2012 with more than $425,000 on hand. A disclosure filed with the Federal Election Commission shows Miller did not raise any money during the fourth quarter of the year. Miller upset U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the 2010 Republican primary but she mounted a successful write-in campaign to retain her seat in the general election. Miller is considered a potential challenger to Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Begich next year. He would be allowed to use the money in his campaign fund for any future run for a federal office. Republican Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell has already announced that he is exploring a run against Begich, who, according to his campaign, ended 2012 with about $950,000 on hand.
