- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 63-foot U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service vessel that sank while docked at a Kodiak harbor has been refloated. Coast Guard spokesman Petty Officer Grant DeVuyst says the research vessel Arlluk was refloated Saturday. DeVuyst says the cause of the sinking is unknown and will be investigated by the Fish and Wildlife Service. The Arlluk is based in Kodiak but used by two wildlife refuges on the Alaska Peninsula at the head of the Aleutian Islands. It was docked in Kodiak's St. Herman's Harbor on Thursday and found submerged at 3:30 a.m. Friday by the harbormaster. No one was on board. The Arlluk was carrying an estimated 1,500 gallons of diesel fuel. The Coast Guard last week estimated that no more than 10 gallons leaked.
