- KETCHIKAN, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers say a 24-year-old Ketchikan man is in custody following his escape from an officer's patrol vehicle. Vincent Morin is charged with escape from arrest, attempted vehicle theft and assault. The Ketchikan Daily News says Trooper Joey Beuadoin went to a South Tongass Highway home Thursday evening to respond to a report alleging Morin threatened to hurt a family member. Troopers say Beaudoin handcuffed Morin and placed him in the back of a patrol vehicle, then went into the home to speak with the alleged victim. Troopers say the officer heard commotion outside and stepped out to see Morin slipping through the car's interior window partition. According to troopers, Morin first tried to take the vehicle before running away. He was found almost 24 hours later.
