- WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - A 5-year-old boy is in critical condition following a two-car crash near Wasilla. Austin Ervine remains in Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. Three others in the same small car - 56-year-old Dewayne Joehnk, 53-year-old Beatrice Joehnk , and 13-year-old Georgia Joehnk, suffered serious injuries. State Troopers say 26-year-old Michael Weetman of Palmer was driving a small sedan just before 11 p.m. on Bogard Road when he lost control, crossed the center line and crashed into a 2010 Toyota Prius. Two medical helicopters attempted to carry victims to Providence but were turned back by heavy snow. They instead landed at Mat-Su Regional Hospital. Austin Ervine was flown to Providence when snowfall abated. Weetman was taken by troopers to Mat-Su Regional and treated for minor injuries.
