Woman acquitted of murdering husband

- PALMER, Alaska (AP) - A jury has acquitted a woman who shot and killed her husband while he slept. A Palmer jury on Tuesday found Lisa Donlin not guilty on all counts after several days of deliberations following a four-week trial. Donlin was charged with second-degree murder, along with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. Donlin shot her husband, Jason Donlin, five times in the back and head while he was asleep on Oct. 7, 2010. The defense argued that her husband had been raping and torturing her for three days in a cabin where she was being kept against her will. Prosecutors argued that the killing was non-confrontational, and they said while medical records showed evidence of scrapes and bruises there was nothing to indicate she had been tortured.
