Anchorage signs port deal with Delta Western

- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Delta Western Inc. has signed a 20-year land lease for a new bulk fuel facility at the Port of Anchorage. Delta Western, an independent distributor of petroleum products and lubricants, says it will expand operations and build a facility that can hold 360,000 barrels of petroleum products on 2.5 acres of port land. A port announcement says the deal is first new long-term lease at the port in more than 20 years. Delta Western delivers fuel and lubricants to villages, vessels, logging and mining operations and construction sites. The port is part of the municipality of Anchorage. The port is the entry point for most consumer goods that reach 85 percent of Alaskans.
