- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police have released the names of the two officers who shot and killed a man after he allegedly pointed a semi-automatic pistol at one of them. The officers who fired on 27-year-old Detlef Wulf were identified Tuesday as Christopher Alexander and Michael Farr, both hired by the department in November of 2007. The incident began late Friday evening in the parking lot of the Carrs grocery store in the Fairview neighborhood of Anchorage. A security guard notified police when he couldn't wake a man slumped over the wheel of his car in the parking lot. Police say Wulf refused an order to put up his hands and went for his gun. Police Chief Mark Mew says Wulf then aimed his gun at the nearest officer. Officers fired five times.
