Apr 30, 2013 -- 6:00pm

- JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Gov. Sean Parnell is wrapping up an overseas trip focused on oil and gas issues in Europe. His office says the trip wasn't previously announced because of security concerns. Parnell's office says in a release that he traveled to Norway and Scotland to assess the impact of recent oil tax changes on North Sea operations. The Alaska Legislature recently passed an oil tax cut championed by Parnell that is currently the subject of a referendum effort. Parnell also was to have attended the European Seafood Expo in Brussels but postponed the start of his trip to attend Saturday's memorial in Anchorage for the son of Attorney General Michael Geraghty, who died in a traffic accident. Other state officials and first lady Sandy Parnell represented Alaska at the April 23-25 expo.
