- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 23-year-old soldier facing an involuntary manslaughter charge for the shooting death of a friend at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson could learn his fate Thursday. The Army is court martialing Army Spc. Marshall Drake in the death of 25-year-old Pfc. Grant Wise early Christmas Day.   Pvt. David Hubbard testified Wednesday the men had been drinking when they woke him and invited him to Drake's room. He says Drake took out a handgun, removed the magazine and a bullet from the chamber and started playing around with the weapon. Wise also handled the gun and dry-fired it. Hubbard says Drake pointed the gun at Wise and pulled the trigger and the gun fired. The Anchorage Daily News reports Hubbard says he can't explain how the bullet got into the gun.
