An Anchorage hospital has released one of the four people who survived a plane crash that killed former Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens and four others. A Providence Alaska Medical Center spokeswoman says 13-year-old Willy Phillips Jr., was released. He's the son of lobbyist Bill Phillips Sr., who died in the Aug. 9 crash north of Dillingham. It's unclear when the teen was released. Spokeswoman Kirsten Schultz says lobbyist Jim Morhard remains in fair condition.
Alaska State Troopers have released the names of the two people from Chugiak who died in a plane crash in central Alaska. Troopers say the pilot of the small plane was 79-year-old John Graybill and his passenger was 78-year-old Dolores Mae Graybill. Authorities say a dog was found alive. Troopers say the cause of Friday's crash, 37 miles northeast of McGrath, has not been determined -- but they say weather appears to be a factor.

A driver who picked up a hitchhiker faces DUI charges after the hitchhiker sent text messages about her worries that the man was drinking. Alaska State Troopers say the female hitchhiker sent the messages to a friend, who relayed them to authorities. Troopers say they took action and located the driver in a parking area at the Seward Highway and Potter Valley Road. The hitchhiker had already gotten out. Trooper Sgt. Bryan Barlow says 53-year-old Timothy Michael Borup of Anchorage was charged with drunken driving and driving with a revoked license. The hitchhiker's name wasn't released.
The funeral for former U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens has been scheduled for Wednesday. Stevens' family released preliminary details on the funeral anda separate memorial on Tuesday, when Stevens will lie in repose at All Saints Episcopal Church in Anchorage. Wednesday's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at Anchorage Baptist Temple, with a reception to follow. Both events will be open to the public.
