Alaska State Troopers say a man in the village of Akiachak has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend.

Troopers say 53-year-old Moses T. George has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 44-year-old Agnus Williams last week.

Troopers say he was taken to the correctional facility in Bethel.

Akiachak is a village of about 630 people on the Yukon-Kuskokwim delta in western Alaska.
